USPS LARGE PHOTO ESSAY 5c SAM HOUSTON STAMP 1964, #1242!
SCARCE ITEM!Essay Size: 10 X 8 inches
A scarce original photo essay for the 1964 Sam Houston commemorative, featuring original drawing for the design (which doesn't quite match the finished engraved stamp!). This essay is fresh and is an original UPI Wire photo, with both UPI and 1963 San Francisco Examiner library handstamps on reverse. These photo essays are quite hard to come by in any condition. USPS and USPOD photo essays have been around since at least the late 1930s. These items, created frequently from approved artist models, often do not match the stamp as issued, thus their popularity with collectors. In most cases, very few photographic essays survive, because they were distributed primarily to media and the vast majority were destroyed after use. As with most of our items, there is NO RESERVE!!! Good Luck!! Check out our other auctions!
Domestic buyer pays $1.50 shipping (insurance optional at actual cost). Overseas buyers shipping charges are $1.50 minimum, but vary according to weight of item. Shipping on lots can be combined if you wait for my invoice. We accept personal checks, money orders and full-gum U.S. postage at face value. We also accept Paypal.
As a side note, to help reduce the amount of stuff going into the landfills, I use a great deal of recycled material as packing. All is clean, but some may be odd...
